The Professors passion for "The Science of Deceit" started here...

Employed by the Ministry (in a covert capacity) to help introduce the law ending dishonest politics, you can see his hand all over the posts of past.

Current political circumstances have forced him to reveal himself and as we speak, MPs are signing up to re-introduce The Elected Representatives (Prohibition of Deception) Bill for debate with over 80,000 voters supporting them.

Posts before Jan '08 are purely for the record (with hindsight they make fascinating reading). Posts after May 13th mark the Professor's return.

Quote of the Week

"Frankly, if we are to regain trust or at least improve levels of trust in politics and politicians, politicians do have to speak honestly, tell things how they see it, not be ashamed when things go wrong to own up to the fact that they've gone wrong. And I think the public give credit to politicians who behave in that way."

Sir Philip Mawer
Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards
Do we give credit to politicians who admit their mistakes ? The hunt is on folks - name that politician. Winner gets a night with Cherie.

  1. Careful there sonny, you end up out on your arse just like Filkin if you don't shut it. Who said you were allowed to have an opinion?

  3. I bumped into John Prescott in Burger King on the Tottenham Court Road (worryingly close to Anne Summers) where he was having a barny with the guy behind the counter. After delivering a swift rabbit punch to the employee of the month's kidneys, he finally admitted he'd made a mistake and 4 burgers would probably do the trick.

  12. Seriously, can't remember the last time someone admitted a mistake with good grace. What a shameful state of affairs we are in.

Granted, he admitted it, admitted he had lied - but never said it was a mistake. I'm with you on this one. Don't think it was a mistake to shag her. Just he shouldn't have lied about it.
